The spiral cutterheads are used on spindle shapers, spindle moulders for planing and jointing softwood, hardwood and man-made wood. The cutterheads are quieter, require less horsepower, make smaller chips. If the cutterheads cut on hard articles such as stone, nail or one edge is dull, untighten the screw, thurn the dull or broken edge to another edge, tighten the screw. It works as a new cutterhead. Replace only the inserts when all four edges are damaged or dull. You don need to replace the full length of the regular planer knives. The spiral cutterheads greatly reduce downtime.
